Boy who died in Worsthorne farm buggy crash 'kind and lovely'

A 16-year-old boy who died in a farm buggy crash was "beautiful, kind and lovely", his family have said.

Hector Eccles, from Worsthorne, near Burnley, died after his buggy crashed into a field off Extwistle Road after 00:00 GMT on Saturday.

Lancashire Police said his 17-year-old passenger was not seriously injured.

In a tribute, Hector's family said he was "always happiest" on their farm and "he loved to spend his time" with "his animals".

His family said he also liked to spend time at animal auctions and with his friends in Pendle Young Farmers.

They added that Hector would "always be in our hearts and minds".

Lancashire Police has appealed for information and dashcam footage, but said it was satisfied that no other vehicles were involved and it was "no longer a criminal investigation".

Sgt Martin Wilcock said his thoughts remained with Hector's loved ones at "this difficult time".
