Run for All: Thousands in Leeds fundraising run

  • Published

About 9,000 runners have taken part in the 5th annual Run for All in Leeds to raise funds for charity.

The 10km (6.2m) run is held in honour of Jane Tomlinson, who raised almost £2m for charity before dying from cancer.

The event was run for the first time in June 2007, three months before Mrs Tomlinson died.

The fundraising efforts have continued and her family have since set up similar races in York and Hull.

More than £3m has been raised by those taking part in the events.

Her husband, Mike Tomlinson, said: "Speaking on behalf of all the family we are so grateful that the Leeds 10K is firmly established in the city's sporting events calendar.

"During the years we've encountered numerous stories where people have overcome incredible adversity to take part.

"We continue to be overwhelmed by the levels of fundraising the event achieves."
