Sheffield's Supertram network given four extra trams

Sheffield's Supertram network is to be boosted with four additional trams, Chancellor George Osborne announced in his Autumn Statement.

Stagecoach, which operates the city's Supertram, said it welcomed the Chancellor's announcement.

The company said it was now looking forward to working alongside South Yorkshire Passenger Transport Executive to introduce the new trams.

Sheffield's Supertram network consists of three city routes covering 29km.
