The new £8m Wakefield Westgate railway station has opened to passengers.
Train operator East Coast Main Line said it was the first new station built on the line between London and Edinburgh "in decades".
Located just north of the old station it is served by an adjacent 900-space multi-storey car park.
It is claimed the new station is 71% more energy efficient than the old station due to its use of solar panels and natural lighting
East Coast Main Line said the station was designed to "to make travelling to and from Wakefield much easier".
It has a new drop-off point, a covered taxi rank and 30 covered bike spaces at the front.
