Leeds Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield has been honoured by the Queen in her Birthday Honours list.

Sinfield, 33, who has played for the club since 1996, is appointed MBE for services to rugby league.

Other people honoured in West Yorkshire include the Reverend Canon Charles Dobbin from Leeds who is appointed MBE for services to community cohesion.

He chairs a number of groups working across different faiths in the county.

Also appointed MBE for services to the community is Bradford lawyer Sarah Khan-Bashir.

Mrs Bashir works with the Mosaic scheme, founded by Prince Charles, which provides mentoring and support for young people across the UK.
