Pictures of the clothing worn by a man whose body was discovered on a canal towpath have been issued by police to help identify him.

The body was discovered near to Low Mill Lane in Ravensthorpe, Dewsbury, on Monday, West Yorkshire Police said.

It is of a white man, aged between 30 and 50 years, about 6ft (1.8m) tall and of slim build, the force said.

He was wearing a No Fear short-sleeved t-shirt and chino-style shorts with a palm tree design.

Det Ch Insp Mark Swift said: "I would appeal to anyone who recognises the clothing, or who has any information, no matter how small or insignificant it may seem to come forward."

He said the death was being treated as unexplained.
