A new £10.8m railway station has opened to the south of Bradford.

Low Moor, on the Calder Valley line, has hourly services between Bradford and Halifax and four trains a day to London King's Cross.

It is situated close to the M606 and M62 motorway and is expected to be used as a park and ride centre for commuters travelling to Bradford city centre.

The station is the third to open in West Yorkshire since 2015.

It replaces the original Low Moor station, which was closed and demolished in 1965.

West Yorkshire Combined Authority (WYCA) said it expected more than 500,000 passengers to use the new station every year.
