Huddersfield: Teenager arrested after group seen with swords

A teenager has been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder after a large group of males was seen carrying swords and knives in Huddersfield.
Police were called to Rawthorpe Lane on Monday night after reports that several men wielding weapons had been spotted.
They searched the area and found evidence of a suspected blank-firing gun being used in Standiforth Place.
Extra stop-and-search powers were brought in following the disorder, according to West Yorkshire Police.
The stop-and-search powers covered an area to the east of the town, including Rawthorpe, Dalton and Moldgreen, the force said.
They were intended to "prevent serious violence and keep communities safe".
A Section 60 order to deter people from carrying weapons was put in place until 21:25 BST on Tuesday and could be extended after being reviewed by officers, police said.
The order covered an area surrounding the A62 Leeds Road and the A629 Wakefield Road.
The extra powers meant officers could stop and search people or vehicles without needing the "usual grounds" to suspect the person searched, the force added.
Det Ch Insp Marie Bulmer, of Kirklees District CID, said: "This disorder took place at a time when there would have been people around.
"We would like to speak to anyone who saw this disorder or males involved fleeing the scene."
