Huddersfield: M62 closed for 12 hours after fatal crash

One person has died and another has been seriously injured in a crash on the M62 near Huddersfield.
Police said the single-vehicle incident took place between junctions 23 and 22 on the westbound carriageway, at about 04:20 GMT on Wednesday.
The westbound carriageway was closed for 12 hours as police investigated the circumstances of the crash.
Details of the individual who died have not been released by officers. Witnesses are urged to contact police.
A National Highways spokesperson said the road reopened at around 16:20 GMT when the queue of traffic was stretched back four miles.
