A man accused of murdering two housemates in the Harehills area of Leeds has appeared in court.
Abdullah Mirzada, 53, and Khaja Raisoddin Mohammed, 65, were found injured in Back Hill Top Avenue, at 11:00 BST on Saturday.
Mr Mirzada died at the scene and Mr Mohammed was pronounced dead in hospital a short time later.
Robert Jean, 46, who lived at the same address in Hill Top Mount, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
The defendant spoke only to confirm his name and age.

Police officers carried out forensic inquiries at the scene on Saturday
The court heard the charges were too serious to be dealt with at the magistrates' court, with no formal pleas entered.
The defendant's lawyer indicated not guilty pleas to both charges.
Mr Jean, who was assisted by a French interpreter, was remanded into custody and is due to appear at the city's crown court on Friday.
