Ackworth crash: Road blocked after lorry strikes bridge

A lorry has hit a bridge on Doncaster Road in the Ackworth area of Pontefract, police said.
The bridge strike happened shortly before 08:00 BST, and the A638 is currently closed in both directions, West Yorkshire Police said.
West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) said a man was left trapped in his car after colliding with the lorry as it struck the bridge.
Motorists are advised to avoid the area until further notice.
A spokesperson from WYFRS said: "We received a call from the ambulance at 7:37am regarding a road traffic collision on Doncaster Road.
"A heavy traffic vehicle had hit a bridge, leading to a male being trapped in his car.
"We sent crews from South Kirkby and Pontefract. We are currently still in attendance."
There is slow traffic due to the incident from New Road, Badsworth, to Doncaster Road Estate, Ackworth.
