One man has died and another man has been left with serious injuries after a wall collapsed in West Yorkshire.

Police said they received a report of a man trapped on Perseverance Terrace in Batley at about 19:30 BST on Wednesday.

Two men were found injured at the scene and they were both taken to hospital, where one was later pronounced dead, West Yorkshire Police said.

The other man's injuries were not thought to be life-threatening, a force spokesperson added.

The man's death was not being treated as suspicious and a file was being prepared for the coroner, according to police.
