Police in West Yorkshire are reviewing body-worn footage after an incident involving the force's officers went viral on social media.
The footage, said to be from Third Avenue in Rothwell on Sunday, shows officers trying to detain a person.
As a crowd gathers, some officers have batons in hand while one officer appears to use a spray to make people stay away.
A force spokesperson said "the matter is being investigated".
The spokesperson added the force was aware of the video "around some disorder" circulating, adding that a referral had been made to the force's Professional Standards Directorate, which handles complaints and misconduct allegations against staff.
