Guilty verdicts over Dariusz Michalowski murder and body disposal in 2011

Three men have been found guilty for their roles in a man's murder and the disposal of his body 12 years ago.
Dariusz Michalowski died in 2011 but his remains were not found until 2020.
At Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday, Adam Tolwinski and Ernest Weber were found guilty of killing 44-year-old Mr Michalowski, preventing a lawful burial and perverting the course of justice.
A third man, Piotr Weber, was found guilty of perverting the course of justice and preventing a lawful burial.
Mr Michalowski, a former Polish police officer and father of one, was last seen at his house in Macaulay Road, Huddersfield, on 13 March 2011.
His remains were found in remote woodland in Mixenden, Calderdale, in December 2020.
The court previously heard how Pawel Szudy, who worked alongside Mr Michalowski at a garage, led police to his grave.
This later resulted in the arrests of Tolwinski, 39, and brothers Ernest Weber, 46, and Piotr Weber, 43.
Mr Szudy was not accused of killing Mr Michalowski but admitted helping to dispose of his body and was granted immunity from prosecution in return for giving evidence at the three men's trial.
Following the verdict, Det Supt Tony Nicholson, who led the investigation, said: "I hope seeing these men found guilty of the crimes they inflicted on Dariusz can at least begin the process of bringing some closure to his family after so many years of uncertainty about what became of him."
Tolwinski, Ernest Weber and Piotr Weber, all of no fixed abode, are due to be sentenced at Leeds Crown Court on Thursday.
