Two men have been arrested after speed cameras were damaged in West Yorkshire, with one of them falling to the ground.

Police said two men had been riding a quad bike before they vandalised the cameras on Leeds Road, between Batley and Dewsbury, last Monday.

The camera poles were damaged and one fell over. Images on social media showed sparks flying at the scene.

Two men aged 21 and 22 were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and later bailed, West Yorkshire Police said.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, which took place at about 09:09 BST on 23 October, is urged to contact police.
