A fatal house fire in Bradford was started by a charging e-bike battery, the fire service has said.

The blaze broke out on Finch Street at about 05:30 GMT on Saturday and a man, a woman and a child managed to escape, police said.

However, a second man who was brought out of the home by firefighters died at the scene.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue said a lithium-ion battery was charging in the living room where the fire broke out.

The death was being treated as "non suspicious", West Yorkshire Police said.
