Officers found cannabis plants with an estimated street value of nearly £450,000 at Moorfield House in Moortown

Six men have been remanded in custody after being charged over the discovery of a large-scale cannabis farm at a derelict care home in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police executed a drugs warrant at Moorfield House, in Fieldhouse Walk, Moortown, on Monday.

Officers found cannabis plants with an estimated street value of about £450,000, the force said.

Six Albanian nationals were arrested at the scene and later charged with production of cannabis.

Altior Deda, 30, Erijon Gjoka, 21, Edison Markeci, 21, Agostin Marku, 36, Ali Qerfozi, 41, and Andi Teta, 32, all of Moorfield House, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Tuesday.

They were remanded to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 5 January.
