Cyclist seriously injured in M62 lorry crash near Wakefield

A cyclist on an electrically-assisted bike has been seriously injured in a crash with a lorry on the M62.
Emergency services were called to junction 30 near Wakefield just after 01.15 GMT.
Police said the cyclist, a man in his 30s, had made his way on to the motorway.
The westbound carriageway was closed between junctions 30 and 29 for several hours while the HGV was recovered, but reopened shortly after 10:00.
Motorists have been warned of ongoing delays following the crash, external, with queues of up to two miles.
West Yorkshire Police said it was investigating and officers have appealed for witnesses and dashcam footage.
