Leeds attempted murder arrest after police officers hit by car

Two police officers were injured in the incident in Trevelyan Square, Leeds
A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after two police officers were hit by a car in Leeds city centre, police said.
They were responding to an incident on foot when they were struck by a vehicle in Trevelyan Square at around 23:30 GMT on Wednesday.
Both officers, a man and a woman, went to hospital and were treated for soft tissue injuries and later discharged.
A 56-year-old man was arrested at the scene and was taken to hospital.
The suspect remains in hospital, West Yorkshire Police said.
He was also arrested on suspicion of drink driving.
