Body found after man seen entering River Wharfe near Wetherby

Police searching for a man who was seen going into the River Wharfe near Wetherby say they have found a body.

Emergency services and the National Police Air Service were called after the man was spotted falling into the river in Boston Spa on Monday night.

A spokesperson for North Yorkshire Police said: "The man has been identified and his relatives have been informed."

Officers said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Bridge Road and High Street in Boston Spa were cordoned off but have both since reopened.
