Police said a 19-year-old man was found at Kentmere Approach in Seacroft, Leeds, with a stab wound to the neck

Four people have been arrested after a 19-year-old man was stabbed during disorder in a street in Leeds.

West Yorkshire Police said officers were called to Kentmere Approach in the Seacroft area of the city at about 17:25 GMT on Tuesday.

The victim was found with a stab wound to the neck, and shots had also been fired, a force spokesperson said.

Three men, aged 19, 20 and 37, and a 46-year-old woman, had been arrested, they added.

The injured man was taken to hospital where he remained in a serious but not life-threatening condition.

"We take any reports of the use of firearms and other weapons extremely seriously," said Det Insp Phil Hughes.

"Extensive enquiries are ongoing to investigate the circumstances of what has taken place and those involved."

Mr Hughes added that the people involved in the incident appeared to be known to each other and police were not aware of any wider threat.

However, there would be an increased police presence in the area "to provide reassurance".

The force urged anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has more information that could help the investigation, to contact 101 or report it anonymously via Crimestoppers.
