Keighley: Cannabis farm worth £1m found in disused building

The raid followed a tip-off from members of the public

Police have seized more than 1,000 cannabis plants worth £1m after uncovering a "large-scale cannabis factory" in a disused building.

Officers from West Yorkshire Police made the discovery at a building in Alice Street, Keighley, on Tuesday.

Three men aged 33, 35 and 43 have been charged with producing controlled drugs, a force spokesperson said.

Insp John Barker, from the force, said the raid followed "information and intelligence" from the public.

He added: "We know that drugs such as those recovered cause long-term misery for people and fuel crime and anti-social behaviour in the area and warrants such as the one we executed in this operation aim to tackle that."

Huy Van Nguyen, Tai Van Phan and Laz Van Nguyen, all from Bradford, appeared at Bradford Magistrates' Court on Thursday charged with being concerned in the production of a Class B drug.

Work lasting several days was carried out at the site to make it safe, the force spokesperson added.

"I would encourage anyone who has suspicions about drugs and drug dealing to report them," said Insp Barker.
