A man has been jailed for causing the death of one of his passengers in a road crash in West Yorkshire.
Kyle Wright was driving a car which was carrying six people when it crashed in Cleckheaton on 22 January 2022.
Curtis Dominik, who was 24 and from Bradford, died in the crash.
Wright, 27, from Huddersfield, admitted causing death by careless driving and dangerous driving. At Leeds Crown Court on Tuesday, he was jailed for three years and four months.
He was also disqualified from driving for five years and eight months and must take an extended test before he can drive again.
Wright was behind the wheel of a Hyundai Terracan which crashed into a field off the A58 as it travelled towards Chain Bar roundabout.
The other four people in the vehicle suffered minor injuries.
Det Con Debbie Farley, of West Yorkshire Police, said: "Having lost control of his vehicle Wright fled the scene. He was arrested later that day.
"Further investigation highlighted other driving offences that night which were deemed to be dangerous prior to the collision.
"We hope the sentence Wright has received will provide some comfort for Curtis's family and demonstrates that those who drive dangerously on our roads will be prosecuted."
Mr Dominik's family said: "Curtis was a kind-hearted, mischievous, larger-than-life young lad who lost his life at only 24 years old.
"He was taken away from a family that loved him more than he will ever know.
"He is deeply missed every single day by us all."
