Jamie Meah: Leeds man in court charged with teenager's murder

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering a teenager in Leeds.
Jamie Meah was 18 when he was stabbed in Hall Lane, Armley, on 31 March 2023. He was taken to hospital but later pronounced dead.
Ranei Wilks, 22, from Leeds, appeared at Leeds Magistrates' Court on Friday charged with his murder.
He spoke only to confirm his name before being remanded into custody to appear at Leeds Crown Court on 23 April.
Mr Wilks is also charged with the attempted murder of a 16-year-old boy who was also stabbed during the incident, and possession of a knife.
He was arrested at Leeds Bradford Airport on Thursday evening after arriving on a flight from Turkey.
Police are still looking to trace Aquade Jeffers, Caleb Awe, and Enham Nishat, all now aged 21, in connection with the case.
The men are believed to have travelled abroad shortly after the incident prior to being identified as suspects.
