Two men died after having been stabbed several times in Leeds, a coroner's inquest has heard.
Housemates Abdullah Mirzada, 53, and Khaja Raisoddin Mohammed, 65, were found in Hill Top Mount, Harehills, on 30 September, a court was told.
Mr Mirzada was discovered injured on the pavement while Mr Mohammed was found in a nearby property's basement.
Robert Jean, who lived with the two men in Hill Top Mount, will go on trial in December accused of their murders.
The inquest, in Wakefield, was told Mr Mirzada, who was originally from Pakistan, died at the scene, while while Mr Mohammed, from India, died in hospital.
Senior coroner Kevin McLoughlin was told Mr Mohammed, a pharmacist by occupation, had also suffered a "blunt force head injury".
The inquest into their deaths was adjourned pending the outcome of the trial.
