A man who sexually abused a child has been jailed for ten years.
Kieron Day denied one count of sexual assault against a child under 13 and one count of causing or inciting a child to engage in sexual activity.
He was found guilty by jurors at Leeds Crown Court and sentenced at the same court on Friday.
In addition to the prison sentence, the 37-year-old, of Woodhead Road, Huddersfield, was also ordered to sign the sex offenders register for life.
Det Sgt Olivia Connor, of West Yorkshire Police, said he had committed "a series of awful offences against a young and vulnerable child".
"We are pleased he is now behind bars," she said.
Officers began a "highly complex" investigation in December 2020 after the victim reported Day's offending, the force said.
Ms Connor added: "I want to commend the courage of the young victim and her family in reporting his dreadful acts, and then supporting what proved to be a complex and painstaking police investigation."
