Planet Aid clothing banks stolen in Leicestershire

  • Published

Three charity clothing banks have been stolen from locations in Leicestershire.

Police said all three incidents happened some time this month in Medbourne, Great Glen and Market Harborough.

The banks were green, with the words Planet Aid on the side, and held quantities of donated clothing.

Officers said the substantial metal containers would be difficult to hide and appealed for witnesses.

Pc Chris Hill, the investigating officer, said: "Planet Aid work to help development in some of the poorest countries in the world and losing these donations is very frustrating for them.

"It's despicable to think that someone would steal from a charity and non-profit organisation."
