A £1m improvement scheme at a school in Leicester is to be opened this week.
The facility at Rolleston Primary is being officially launched at a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday.
It includes a new hygiene room, food technology facility, internet cafe area, a multipurpose classroom and improved computer system
Councillor Vi Dempster, cabinet member for children and schools, said the local community would benefit from the development too.
She said: "The provision of these areas is very important to the school as a whole, as it provides the potential for members of the community to use the school in a variety of new ways."
A large raised external area has also been created with the aim of being used for teaching or dining outdoors.
Computer facilities designed by Leicester City Council architects have also been boosted with the provision of a new school server, wireless internet access for the whole school with interactive white board facilities and laptops for every classroom.
