A man has been charged with murdering a teenage boy who was found injured in a busy residential street in Leicester after reports of a fight.

Tyler Thompson, 16, was discovered on Freeman Road North on Tuesday night and taken to hospital, where he died.

Pravdit Sian, 18, from Litelmede, Leicester, was charged on Thursday night and remanded into custody by city magistrates earlier.

He is due to appear at Leicester Crown Court on 22 December.

A post-mortem examination found a provisional cause of death to be a stab wound to the chest.
