Residents across Leicestershire found their car windows had been smashed

Four men have admitted criminal damage after dozens of vehicles were vandalised in the space of a few hours over the New Year period.

Police said people's car windows were smashed and their tyres were slashed in Leicestershire villages late on 1 January and overnight.

The reports came from areas including Rushey Mead, Thurmaston and Syston.

The men, aged 18, 20, 21, 23, appeared at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Monday.

They have been bailed until sentencing at Leicester Crown Court in May.
