A 56-year-old woman arrested on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation

A 56-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an elderly woman was found dead at a care home.

The body was discovered at Thurn Court on Thurncourt Road, Leicester, at about 10:25 BST on Sunday.

Leicestershire Police said the woman has been released while its enquiries continue. The age of the deceased woman has not yet been released.

Leicestershire County Care, which owns the home, said it was "fully co-operating" with investigations.

A post-mortem examination has proved inconclusive and further tests are due to be carried out.

Detectives said it was not looking for anyone else in connection with the death.

In a statement, the care home said: "Leicestershire County Care and Thurn Court are fully co-operating with the police and other authorities while the investigation continues."
