The men died when the car they were passengers in crashed in Forest Road

Two people have been charged over the death of two men who were killed in a crash in Leicestershire.

The men were passengers in a black Range Rover Sport that crashed into a wall before colliding with a grey Volkswagen Transporter in Forest Road, Woodhouse, on Tuesday.

The pair - one in his 20s and one in his 30s - died at the scene.

Scott Fitzgerald, 36, and Sean Fitzgerald, 31, are due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Friday.

Scott, from Manor Road in Loughborough, is accused of two counts of causing death by dangerous driving, one count of failure to provide a specimen of blood for analysis and one count of assaulting an emergency worker.

Sean, of Castledine Street in Quorn, is charged with assisting an offender.

A 35-year-old man who was also arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender has been released on bail, the force added.
