Leicester: Third man charged after fatal stabbing

A third man has been charged over the death of a man who was stabbed in Leicester.

Sidney Anthony Palmer, known as Sid, died at the scene in Conduit Street on Saturday after being stabbed in the chest.

A 24-year-old man was arrested in West Yorkshire on suspicion of the 59-year-old's murder and remains in custody.

Leon Newton, 34, of no fixed address, has been charged with conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court later.

Michael Berlin, 31, of Great Central Way, Leicester, and Nathan Pritchard, 29, of Conduit Street, Leicester, have already been charged with conspiracy to cause grievous bodily harm with intent.

They appeared before magistrates on Wednesday.
