Monster at top of building

Leicester has been lit up by a trail of giant glowing monsters, which have been installed to attract more people to the city centre.

Tentacle Terry, Nosey Bonk and Groaner are among the nine monsters looming from the top of buildings and bursting from windows.

The trail opened on Monday and people can visit until Halloween on 31 October.

They can download a digital map, external or the Leicester Monsters Trail app, or pick up printed copies of the map.

Visitors can scan QR codes at each location to win prizes.

They can also take part in a photo competition by posting their photos on social media with the #leicestermonsters tag.

The trail is presented by Leicester Business Improvement District (BID) with support from Highcross Leicester and Leicester City Council.

Simon Jenner, director of Leicester BID, said: "Anyone can come down, all are welcome and you can get round the trail completely free."

Some restaurants are offering special deals and menus during the first week of the monsters trail, which coincides with Leicester Restaurant Week.
