The Heritage at Risk Register now includes The Old Rectory in Loughborough, Leicestershire

Historic England has added 13 buildings and sites in the East Midlands to its "at risk" list.

Among the new additions on the Heritage at Risk Register is the Grade II listed The Old Rectory in Loughborough, Leicestershire, and Wollaton Hall in Nottingham.

The hall was used as Wayne Manor for the filming of The Dark Knight Rises.

Another addition to the list is the Church of All Saints in Glossop, Derbyshire.

Historic England said the 13 buildings and sites were among 4,871 across the country that were considered to be at risk of neglect, decay or inappropriate development.

This was 48 fewer than the previous list released last year.

Other sites have been removed from the updated list, such as the Church of St John the Evangelist in Rutland.

Two arched doorways at The Old Rectory have been supported by props for the last four years

Historic England said The Old Rectory, on the edge of Loughborough town centre, was one of the oldest rectories in England.

The stone-built manor house was given to the church in 1228 and has been home to the rectors of All Saints Parish Church for most of its life.

Over the last 700 years it has undergone numerous changes and is now home to a museum.

Historic England said: "The Old Rectory was added to the Heritage at Risk Register because seven centuries of wear and tear have left their mark on the original stonework, which needs attention, and the two arched doorways, which have been supported by props for the last four years."

Historic England said work was completed on the Church of St John the Evangelist at the end of 2022

The 13th Century Church of St John the Evangelist in Ryhall was one of buildings removed from the register after its leaking roof was repaired.

Historic England said the work was completed at the end of 2022 after receiving grants from various bodies and local fundraising.

One resident completed 100 laps of the village by her 86th birthday, raising more than £5,000 in sponsorship for the cause.
