Driver dies after crash with lorry on A42

A driver has died after a crash on the A42 in Leicestershire.
Police said a BMW X3 was involved in "serious collision" with a lorry parked in a layby on the southbound carriageway of the A42 near Appleby Magna.
The crash was reported at about 05:00 GMT and led to the road being closed between junctions 11 and 12.
The BMW driver was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham but later died as a result of his injuries.
The road has since reopened.
