A42 lorry fire prompts closure of busy route
- Published
A lorry fire has led to disruption on a major route through Leicestershire.
Fire crews were called to the blazing vehicle on the A42 near Willesley on Thursday afternoon.
Both carriageways were closed between the Packington turn-off and the M42 slip road as firefighters dealt with the incident.
National Highways said the northbound side had since reopened but the southbound carriageway was likely to stay closed "for some time yet".
