Cotesbach: Woman, 18, dies in hospital after two-car crash

Leicestershire Police is appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage

An 18-year-old woman has died following a two-car crash in Leicestershire.

The crash, involving a Citroën C3 and Mercedes CLK, happened on the A426 Rugby Road in Cotesbach, near the town of Lutterworth, about 20:30 GMT on Friday.

A total of seven people suffered serious injuries and were taken to hospital.

Leicestershire Police said the woman, a passenger in the Citroën, died in hospital on Sunday.

Five people, aged between 18 and 34, were in the Citroën and two people, a man and a woman in their 60s, were in the Mercedes, the force said.

The driver of the Citroën and one of the other passengers in the car remain in a life-threatening condition.

The other two passengers are now in a stable condition but have suffered life-changing injuries.

The driver and the passenger in the Mercedes also suffered life-changing injuries.

Police said officers were continuing to appeal for witnesses and dashcam footage.
