South Wigston: Roads reopen after firefighters tackle flat blaze

Fire crews have tackled a blaze that broke out at a flat in Leicestershire.
The blaze started at the property in Canal Street, South Wigston, at about 07:00 GMT on Monday.
Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service said one person escaped the flat and was treated by paramedics for smoke inhalation.
Police also attended the scene and closed Canal Street, Timber Street, Healey Street and Countesthorpe Road, while the fire was dealt with.
The fire service said crews remained at the scene dampening down the property.
Leicestershire Police later confirmed that all road closures had been removed in the area.
