A man was stabbed in the arm during a fight in Leicester city centre.

Leicestershire Police said it was called to a report of two men fighting in Granby Street shortly before 18:20 GMT on Friday.

The man was taken to hospital after sustaining the stab wound, which is not thought to be life-threatening.

A suspect left the scene before officers arrived, with investigations into the stabbing ongoing, the force added.

Halford Street, Yeoman Street and Granby Street were shut, but police have since lifted these road closures.
