Leicester City midfielder Hamza Choudhury has been charged with drink-driving.

Police said officers pulled over a vehicle in Loughborough Road, West Bridgford, Nottinghamshire, at about 01:45 GMT on Friday.

A man was arrested on suspicion of refusing to provide a specimen of breath, the force added.

Mr Choudhury has since been charged with driving while over the alcohol limit.

The 26-year-old is also accused of driving without due care and attention, and failing to co-operate with a preliminary test.

Mr Choudhury, of Rushcliffe, Nottinghamshire, has been released on unconditional bail and is due before magistrates in Nottingham on 23 February.

He played in the Foxes' game against Ipswich on Monday.

The club declined to comment.
