Half-term roadworks planned for busy Leicester street
- Published
Roadworks will be carried out on a busy street in Leicester during the half-term holiday.
Repair works will be carried on Victoria Road East from Cordelia Close up to and including the junction with Hastings Road.
Leicester City Council said it will spend around £138,000 on the roadworks, which will start on Saturday and will take place over seven days.
A full road closure will be in force, the council said.
There will also be some parking restrictions.
Councillor Adam Clarke, deputy city mayor for climate, economy and culture, said: "The work is part of this financial year's annual £4m highways maintenance capital programme.
"Ongoing maintenance is part of the work needed to keep the city's roads in good condition.
"These works are taking place during the school holidays when there is less traffic on the roads, and a local diversion will be in place to ensure disruption is kept to a minimum."
