Reverend Canon Karen Rooms says she loves being in Leicester

A special service will be held to install Reverend Canon Karen Rooms as the third Dean of Leicester.

The Lord Bishop of Leicester, the Right Reverend Martyn Snow, will induct Canon Rooms on Saturday.

The service will be sung by the Leicester Cathedral Choir.

Canon Rooms, who was ordained in the Diocese of Southwell and Nottingham, was announced as the new Dean of Leicester in November.

She said: "It is an absolute privilege to serve as Dean of Leicester in such a vibrant city and in Leicestershire's towns and rural communities.

"I love being in Leicester and am excited about all the possibilities which our renewed cathedral - and the facilities that will be available to us later in 2024 - offer."
