Dishley Pool: Twitchers invited to dawn chorus walk around lake
- Published
An early-morning walk for bird enthusiasts to experience the morning chorus is being run around a lake in Leicestershire.
Twitchers are invited to the free event which will follow around Dishley Pool in Loughborough.
The walk has been organised by Charnwood Borough Council's open spaces partner idverde alongside Charnwood Bird Ringing Club and the RSPB.
The Dawn Chorus Walk will take place at the lake on 2 May.
Expert guides will be leading the 0.7-mile (1.2km) walk and will be on hand to share their knowledge about the habitat at Dishley Pool.
The council said the event would start at 06:00 BST, providing walkers a chance to learn about the different birds at the open space while enjoying the sounds of a spring morning.
Nicola Clarke, community engagement officer for idverde, said: "Last year's Dawn Chorus Walk proved popular with residents so we thought we would bring it back and give people a chance to join us once again bright and early.
"The walk offers a wonderful way for residents to engage with nature and discover the variety of wildlife at Dishley Pool."
There are limited spaces on the walk, so those interested in attending are being asked to book a place online.
