A rural crossroads in Leicestershire is shut following a serious crash involving a minibus.

A car and a minibus crashed at the junction of Fenn Lanes and Shenton Lane near Dadlington, north of Hinckley, at about 08:20 BST.

The driver of the car suffered "serious life-threatening injuries", say Leicestershire Police.

The road remains closed to traffic while investigations are carried out at the scene, the force adds.

Nobody on board the minibus was injured in the collision.

The driver of the car was taken to University Hospitals of Coventry and Warwickshire for treatment.

Police would like anyone who witnessed the incident to make contact.
