A woman found dead in a Leicester home has been named by police.
Bhajan Kaur, 76, was found in a house in Bolsover Street, in North Evington, shortly after 20:00 BST on Monday.
Officers have been granted more time on Wednesday to question a 47-year-old man, who was arrested on suspicion of murder.
Leicestershire Police said it had referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to "previous police contact".
'Isolated incident'
Meanwhile, further tests are to be carried out following a post-mortem examination.
Det Ch Insp Mark Sinksi of the East Midlands Special Operations Unit Murder Investigation Team said: "This is an extremely difficult time for Mrs Kaur's family and specialist officers continue to support them.
"House to house enquiries and a trawl of CCTV continues in the area and if anyone has any footage or information which may assist, they are asked to get in touch."
He added said this was an "isolated incident".
A road closure previously in place in Bolsover Street has since been lifted but police said a cordon would remain at the scene while it continued to be examined.
