Murder charge after woman found dead in Leicester house

Bhajan Kaur was found dead in a house Bolsover Street, Leicester

A man has been charged with the murder of a woman who was found dead in a house in Leicester.

Bhajan Kaur, 76, was discovered in a house in Bolsover Street, in North Evington, shortly after 20:00 BST on Monday.

Leicestershire Police said Sindeep Singh had been charged and remanded in custody.

The 47-year-old, of no fixed address, is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates' Court on Friday.

The force previously said it had referred itself to the Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) due to "previous police contact".
