Lifeboat crew rescues grounded yacht off Skegness
- Published
A lifeboat crew was called out to rescue a yacht which had run aground on the Lincolnshire coast.
Skegness RNLI's all weather boat was launched on Friday night when the Goe Valente got into difficulties near Gibraltar Point.
The yacht was towed into deeper water and three of the four people on board were taken ashore.
The rescue came just 12 hours before the start of Skegness RNLI's annual Lifeboat Day.
Both the town's lifeboats are on show outside the boathouse on Saturday, and there will be displays from the coastguard, RAF and the RNLI.
