A16 in Burwell reopens after hay lorry fire

A major road in Lincolnshire has reopened after a lorry fire.
The A16 at Burwell, near Louth, was shut at about 13:00 BST on Wednesday after a lorry carrying several tonnes of hay caught fire.
The road was closed between the A1104 at Ulceby Cross and A157 Kenwick roundabout due to the damage of the road surface.
It reopened at around 18:30 BST on Thursday.
Station manager Steve Wright from Lincolnshire Fire and Rescue said the bales were being carried in a trailer at the back of the lorry.
"It is... likely there was a fault with the trailer or something was thrown up from the road that caused the ignition in the straw," he said.
The driver of the lorry was unhurt.
