Details of a £25m project to create a new transport hub in Lincoln city centre have been unveiled.
The scheme would comprise of a new bus station adjacent to the city's train station.
A 1,000-space multi-storey car park would be built on the site of the current bus station. Plans also include the provision of more cycle spaces and lanes.
The scheme is part of wider plans to regenerate Lincoln city centre.
City council leader Ric Metcalfe said: "This is a huge scheme that would bring huge benefits to all who live and work in Lincoln, and importantly to those who visit the city and invest in it as well.
"The city centre masterplan identified a need for an integrated and improved transport hub that would allow both the bus and train stations to cope with increased passenger numbers and open up the possibility of more services in the future."
In 2014, the project was awarded £11m from the Department for Transport.
The council's executive are due to meet on 19 January to decide whether to support the funding of a planning application ahead of a consultation, which is due to begin on 26 January.
If approved, and other funding is secured, the scheme would be delivered by the city council in partnership with Lincolnshire Co-operative and Network Rail, working alongside East Midlands Trains and Lincolnshire County Council.
The City of Lincoln Council is committing a total of £1.3m to the project.
Work could start in 2016 and would take two and a half years to complete.
